Before and After.<br><br>
My friend Nathan sent me an email with photo attachments of my most recent mech(anical) eror sub correction of three Japanese cards. Mech errors refer to PSA slabs that have a typo or mistake on the label. I sent three cards to PSA that were mislabeled. One of them was missing the year (2011 BBM) and the other two (2004 Konami Prime Nine) were mislabeled as base but were actually parallels. I may have more Lee cards I want to send for label correction but not before I contact Beth at PSA who helped me with this order I'm talking about today.

The other mech errors I am hoping to correct would be BBM cards that have facsimile autos which PSA calls "facsimile foil" that I need corrected. Previously I might have called something a "signature" when I should have stated "facsimle foil." With the help of <a href="http://japanesebaseballcards.blogspot.com" target="a">npccardguy</a> giving me screen grabs of a Konami page from Baseball Magazine, I was able to give this information to Beth at PSA to better understand some Japanese verbiage. I have been looking for these cards for some time as they are very hard to find. I think there are seven total. One seller was selling four of the Giants Monthly cards. I won all four in seperate auctions. I was surprised I got them for as cheap as I dd. I paid $28.64 for all four. I only had one of these Giants Monthly cards which I had slabbed. I am pretty sure I labeled it as Yomiuri Giants Giants Monthly Magazine but PSA labaled it as Yomiuri Giants Victory Card, which I want changed to Giants Monthly because they came with the magazine.

This year has been a slow progression as I havent been able to find a lot of older Lee cards. In the last few months I have picked up some 2022 releases from the Bucky Nine Legend of Heritage and SCC Legend sets, but only the bases and parallels, still needing most of the expensive low serialed cards. There is a SCC Legend Galactic /10 for sale but the seller is wanting about 380,000 won ($293) for it, a bit more than I want to pay. I think I also saw the SCC Legend /1 for 1,500,000 won ($1,150).

Here are the 2022 Bucky Nine Legend of Heritage and SCC Legend base and parallels:

The reason I'm writing this post is for the following cards. BBM, the Japanese card company that established itself in 1991, often has facsimile signature parallel cards of a few different designs/colors. These are usally numbered /100, /50 and /25. The parallels can be Holo Foil Signature (usually /50), Red Signature (usually /25), Silver Signature (/100 or unnumbered) and Gold Signature (usually /100). As I mentioned, I havent seen these for sale, until last week. I did a search for Lee cards on Korean cafes and found one sale post that had multiple facsimile autos I needed. These were sold in lots, some of the cards I didnt need, some had one or two facsimile autos I needed, so I jumped on them RIGHT AWAY. What's strange/ironic is that the seller is someone who bought Lee cards from me before, I just didnt realize it was him until I messaged him with my interest and saw our previous conversation pop up. Here are the facsimile autos I needed and will be subbed to PSA for the Master Set Registry. They are from 2007, 2008 and 2010, all on the Yomiuri Giants.

I'm thrilled to have picked up these 5 facsimile autos but there are still several more I need to buy that I didn't realize were made. I am working on a want list for that and will post it on my Instagram and Twitter to hopefully find someone who would sell me what I need.
<br><br>
<br><br>
Lastly, there are three Samsung Lions Lee Seung-yuop 3D cards were also in this purchase but I dont have their front and backs in an image together at the moment. They arent in the best condition but I had never seen them for sale, which was another reason I had to jump on this sales post. Maybe I will share them in another post later.

I love the art on both the fornt and backs. I love the different poses for the "young player" on the backs.

When I spotted the card online I had to have it right away. I overpaid for it for what it is but it's rare because I had never seen it before. The card I am sharing with you today is a 2005 Konami Prime Nine insert card called Super Player. This is different from every other Prime Nine card I have because this one does not have a generic logo back. In 2004 and 2005 Lee played for Chiba Lotte Marines of the Nippon Professioanl baseball (NPB/Japan). I believe Lee 's only Prime Nine cards are from those two years.
<br><br>
Here are some examples of the Prime Nine cards I already have. As you can see they all have the Prime Nine logo on the back.

Here is the 2005 Konami Prime Nine Super Player insert. As you can see it has images on both sides. As I mentioned above, I was very excited to pick this one up because I had have never seen it. This will get sent to PSA with many other cards I need to get graded for the Lee Master Set Registry.

One problem, I can't find any other 2005 Konami Super Player insert cards online to make a checklist to add to TCDB for PSA to see for ID purposes. UPDATE: Jason had already added these insert sets to TCDB. Here is the <a href="https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/124565" target="a">Second Edition CL</a>

They were a little more than I felt comfortable paying but because I needed most of them I didn't mind. These cards will be added to their respective pages once I receive them. I also won a single 5-card lot of Katsuya Nomura, one of which I already have. I will be having these cards sent to <a href="http://thiscardiscool.blogspot.com" new target="a">Ryan</a> who will then ship to me. Usually when I bid on individual menkos of these players they end up not being too affordable so I feel better about these lot buys. What I enjoy most about buying menkos is adding them to the site and researching them (<a href="http://www.prestigecollectibles.com/vintageguide.aspx" target="a">from Gary's guide</a>) so I know what I have and what I still need. A few of these will be available for trade (for other menkos) or purchase.

I have been collecting their cards for about a year now, maybe longer. I decided to add their cards to this site. You can find them in the mneu on the left at the bottom. I will only be adding what I have purchased and not sure I'll ever add a checklist for them because they have so many menkos/bromides I'll never get aorund to buying and/or finding. So Buehrle, Lee, Nagashima and Kaneda have become the main four players I collect. I have purchased the newest 2021 BBM Lees and am hoping to land more soon.Dan Skrezynahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09664762768185444016noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5409049828645385074.post-44743649140064372322021-06-22T19:05:00.014+09:002021-06-23T13:15:47.183+09:002021 SCC KBO Rainbow set breakdown
Here is the breakdown for the soon-to-be-released (June 30th) 2021 SCC KBO Rainbow set. There is no base set, it's all parallels. Boxes will cost W150,000 ($138) and include one guaranteed auto and rookie parallel. Try searching <a href="http://gsearch.gmarket.co.kr/Listview/Search?keyword=2021%20scc" target="a">here</a> to buy a box online from Korea.

As you will see below, all players in this set will have an auto numbered to /24. Total players in the set is 199, E01 was removed from Hanwha, otherwise all teams have 20 players each, featured in the various parallels. This set will include Shin-soo Choo's first KBO card (SCC-21/S17). I will add these to TCDB when I hear back about the best way to upload sets that dont have a base set.

<br><br>
1 - Purchase a certified Korean issued Lee Seung-yuop autograph.<br>

Some of these goals are more important to me than others. Glancing over these, I think 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10 are the most important to me, at the moment. Once again, through the kindness of his heart, Ryan over at <a href="http://thiscardiscool.blogspot.com" target="a">This Card is Cool</a> helped me pick up some more stuff I was wanting. This time it was a pack of eight postcards released by the Yomiuri Giants. The number on the photo is the player's jersey number. The back is basic and the same for all postcards. I have no idea if this is the full set or if there are many more I'm missing. I would assume the latter. But as you may suspect, I bought these in order to get the Seung-yuop Lee postcard which I hope to get slabbed by PSA in time. I hadn't seen these before. I am unsure of the year but I know it's either 2007 or 2008 because Nioka played for Nippon-Ham in '09-'10 and Lee wore #33 in 2006. The rest of these players in this package (minus Nioka) played all of Lee's Yomiuri years.

<br><br>
As most of us in the hobby, I got back into collecting after many years away. I will tell my story as best as I can remember. When I was sitting in the dugout of a rec-league baseball game in 2012?, my good friend and teammate Josh asked me if I collected baseball cards. I told him I did occasionally buy cards but wasn't too serious about it. I told him I collected Don Mattingly, Jerry Rice, Sterling Sharpe, Dominque WIlkins and others. <b>Sometime after that he mentioned PSA. I don't think I knew anything about card grading services at the time</b>. He told me about it and I decided to get back into collecting more seriosuly. And who did I decide to collect? Don Mattingly.
<br><br>
Yes, I was already collecting him but I decided I was going to go full-steam into buying his cards. I'm not sure why but team collecting has never piqued my interest. It has always been about the player. When I started up again, I think for almost all of my Mattingly purchases I was using eBay because I didnt know about COMC or Sportlots. I eventually started using COMC for the Mattingly PC. I would end up buying everything I could find. Star sets, Broder cards, random oddballs, food issues, all the discs, coins. You name it and I had it. At least it felt that way. As I was acquiring his cards and remembering what Josh told me, I decided at some point in late 2012 or early 2013, I started sending my cards to PSA. At this time, I think subs were about $4.50 per card! And you'd get your cards back in ~60 days! I would send in whatever amount of cards I could afford. I think I eventually got up to #2 or #3 on the Mattingly PSA Master Set registry. Doing this registry set, I met legendary Mattingly collector Chris Sakers and we've been online friends for a while now.
<br><br>
In January 2014, I moved to South Korea to teach conversational English. Since that point, I have lost interest in pursuing the registry for Mattingly and have not bought many of his cards. I have even sold off some of my Mattingly PSA slabs I have with me here in Korea as well as Mattingly slabs and memorabila (ceramic cards, plates, magazines, etc..) when I have been home for vacation. Josh has been letting me keep in storage at his house and I would go there to sell stuff off. Why have I stopped? I think the main reason was interest followed closely by cost. I didn't want to keep spending money on grading cards I no longer had a deep interest in. The fact I moved across the world also helped that happen. I still have a large collection of Mattingly PSA slabs/memorabilia at Josh's house. I still have Star sets already organized in vault boxes in card savers ready to be subbed to PSA. They've been there for several years now.

Here are some Mattingly oddballs:

In the past few years I have been going full steam with collecting Mark Buehrle and even had started subbing cards to PSA for his Master Set Registry but that didn't last long. It came back to cost. I've decided that I would keep a Buehrle Topps Basic Registry set and everything else will stay raw in card savers in white, cardboard vault boxes. I was grading all his autos which I have stopped doing. I even cracked slabs of Buehrle autos that were PSA 8 or less to save some space/weight.

Here are a few of my favorite Buehrle cards:

I haven't mentioned why I grade them. <b>As a player collector, I grade cards because I like the uniformity, protection and most importantly, the cataloguing and building of the PSA Registry from scratch of a player no other American collects, retired Korean baseball star, Seung-yuop Lee</b>. I have my 200+ Lee PSA slabs in a black, vault case. That story will come sometime this month.
<br><br>
I also like the PSA slab the best. I like the red flip, the all caps and font, and it's eay to read. Worst thing of course is that they do not provide sub-grades. I don't like the thickness of the BGS slab, the font size or its gold flip. I am also not a fan of the new SGC flip, its font and size. Of course none of that mattered anyway because I trusted Josh's suggestion of PSA and never looked back.
<br><br>
Do I believe third-party grading companies can/have worked unethically? Yes. Do I think the companies and customers can scratch each others backs in different ways? Yes. I do not concern myself with any of that because it doesn't impact me as I know they aren't giving my card subs 10s due to me subbing thousands every time. I continue to grade with PSA because I don't want to change the uniformity of my collection and I want to continue expanding my Lee registry.

I really hope I don't get any return N9s. To date, I believe I have added 195 different Lee cards to my Master Set, which also makes up the Showcase I published. If all 25 of these are graded then the total will come to 220. That's a great feeling when you start the set from scratch.

I am today years old to realize the 1984 Donruss set had at least 46 cards that had intentional blur in the background. Most of them are blurred with whitish circles over what I assume are fan faces. Was this because they didn't want to be libel for some reason? There may be a full-on explanation somewhere already done but sometimes I like to do this on my own before learning about it. Either way, some of them are pretty artistic-looking and I am considering buying them for that sole purpose.
<br><br>
I was initially searching on TCDB for old Comiskey Scoreboard backgrounds in this set, none of which I saw, but I realized many cards had the intentional blur so I started jotting them down and came up with at least 46, but some with a lesser extent of circles. 1981 Fleer is THE set for Comiskey and Wrigley backgrounds but was hoping to find more in this set. But these are my favorite blurred-circle cards in the 1984 Donruss set:

I have become more serious with my aquariums, selling off some of my Mattingly cards and putting the money into savings and took up reading.
<br><br>
Today I am sharing the Anri Sugihara autographed cards I purchased in the last two years. She is a former Japanese Gravure Idol (model) that I decided to try and collect. These are all of Anri's autos that I have. Most of these autos have ranged between $10-$40. The following are types of cards that are released long with sets at around same time. Ryan gave me a better summary of what each type of card is. I will update this page as I buy more.

In the past few months I have picked up a lot of Japanese menkos on several websites. For those who are not very privy to menkos, they are vintage Japanese miniature cards named after their backs. In this post, the design of the backs resemble a football so it's aptly named "Football Back." This process was done by Gary Engel. Gary released a menko catalog called "Japanese Baseball Card Checklist and Price Guide" and <a href="http://japanesebaseballcards.blogspot.com" target="a">Dave</a> has covered <a href="https://japanesebaseballcards.blogspot.com/search?q=menko" target="a">menkos</a> in great detail in numerous posts. You can buy the price guide through Prestige Collectibles <a href="http://www.prestigecollectibles.com/vintageguide.aspx" target="a">here</a>.
<br><br>
What I love about this menko set, and many others I hope to cover, are the illustrations of the players on the cards. What's even cooler is that sometimes the illustrated backs are just as awesome. At the time of this post I have seven cards from this set with several more to go. In this set, the player is illustrated on the front with the player's last name in cursive. The backs have no illustrations, but have a single card number in the middle and a random, five-digit number in the bottom center. Some card numbers are repeated. I think these card numbers might be jersey numbers. I put these cards in order of jersey/card number, not the random, five-digit number Gary uses to put them in oroder in his catalogue. I may change it later to match. I feel the colors pop on these, especially when they are in better condiiton. Please note that I edited these card scans so they appear more presentable for viewing.
<br><br>
In Engel's price guide, he gives a description of the fronts and backs of every set. Many of the sets can have similar looking fronts and backs and he does his best to describe them. I will update this post as I acquire more of the cards.

If you have received the 2018 set, it is not what I requested to be printed. I despise that UV coating they have on there. I have been exchanging emails with the company and will exchange a few more to make sure the sets are produced and cut correctly. I will then do the process all over again regarding shipping. So assuming everything goes smoothly, everyone will have both the correct and incorrect KBO sets for 2018. Sorry for the inconvenience. This was very upsetting for me because I will have to spend more of my money on this due to the company's error.Dan Skrezynahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09664762768185444016noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5409049828645385074.post-5846534528849186022020-04-22T08:58:00.003+09:002020-04-22T08:58:44.903+09:002018 Vittum Foreign Attack set updateFor all of those who bought a 2018 set, my friend received the sets from the printer and should be shipping them out soon. For those of you in Korea and Japan, they will be shipped to me then I will ship to you.
<br><br>
I am also hoping to finish the 2019 set sometime this year and will keep you updated on that set. I was getting a lot of it done over vacation and school being pushed back due to COVID-19, but school (online teaching) has started up here and I have a little less time. Dan Skrezynahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09664762768185444016noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5409049828645385074.post-13400726559082836552019-12-27T11:01:00.001+09:002019-12-27T11:21:41.776+09:00Vittum Foreign Attack update
For those of you who don't know, I have created a few custom sets for KBO foreign players under the name Vittum Foreign Attack, since foreigners are not included in the Korean released sets. Thus far, I have created sets for years 2015, 2016 and 2017. The serials for each are 2015 (/20), 2016 (/20) and 2017 (/25). In the past I would take a poll to see how many would be interested and order that amount or a few more.

Well, last year I ordered 20 sets for my 2015 set but I still have nine remaining since people backed out or haven't responded. I have considered quitting it all together but have instead decided to push forward and create as many years of KBO foreign player sets as I can but limiting the serial run to ten, maybe 15.
<br><br>
I am currently working on a 2018 set and am about 65% finished. I touched it for the first time in several months. I have also considered using a different printing company that would be significantly cheaper but it would require me to have the sheets shipped to me and cut them myself. I have a guillotine cutter at work that should suffice but I'm afraid I wouldn't make all the cards universally uniform so I may stick with the company I have been using. If you are reading this for the first time and may be interested in a set, please let me know.
<br><br>
For those of you who have purchased my sets the past few years, thanks for your support and your interest in Korean baseball.

Haitai, who used to have their own team in the KBO, the Haitai Tigers, who became the Kia Tigers in 2002, released a set of mini cards in the Homerun Ball chocolate snack treats starting in 2006. After speaking with a fellow Lee Seung-yuop collector, there appears to be 23 cards in the set (22 in image). I currently own five of them.

<br><br>
Not sure if anyone has heard or read about this topic from me before, but I found a Korean blog that has more ads and a brief summary from the Korean blogger about the Haitai Homerun Balls. I couldn't post asking questions because I'm not a member of that blogging site. The reason I am posting is because he mentions Calbee in his blog but I am not sure if he thinks they released them. I know Calbee, a Japanese confectionary, has released food-issued trading cards for a long time. I want to break down the commerical and ads I have seen. I would not have doubted that Calbee may have released these in Japan but I spoke with a Japanese friend who told me he never saw them for sale in Japan and that it was indeed a Korean-only product, as I suspected.
<br><br>
<b>COMMERCIAL:</b> First, in the commercial you will see Lee Seung-yuop driving a car while seated in the right seat, which would make this recorded in Japan, not Korea. Secondly, the Haitai Homerun Ball jersey he is wearing is in the colors of the Yomiuri Giants (Tokyo). Thirdly, the blog states the commercial aired in 2006 while the YouTube video information specifically stated it aired on Sept 9, 2006. The jersey he is wearing in the commercial is #33, which he wore in his first of five years with Yomiuri in 2006 but changed to #25 in 2007-2010. Lastly, all of the snack packaging (Haitai) and commericial writing is in Korean. There was no mention of Calbee in the commercial.

I submitted the five mini cards that I own to PSA but they were N9'd (unable to identify) this week. I will have to be more diligent about giving them the info I have. Also, next time I will attempt to call them 2006 Haitai Homerun Ball, which sounds better, than 2006 Haitai Confectionery as I had listed on the online submission form.

I wanted to make a post for this because of how excited I am about it, although it's a few years old.
<br><br>
I'm a Star Trek fan and Deep Space Nine is my favorite series for various reasons. I met Avery Brooks a few times at conventions I attended in 2012 and 2013. At the first convention I bought a 8x10 at his desk to have him sign, but before the second convention I thought his character through some more and I brought a MLB ball to have him sign because his character was a huge baseball fan. I had him sign the ball with his name and his character's name. For a Star Trek souvenir, I thought it was tops...

<br><br>
Until this.. I'm a huge fan of baseball, a Trekkie, and love the episode, "In the Cards." I'm sure most of you know it. It's Season 5 Episode 25 where Jake is adament about buying the Willie Mays rookie card from an auction of Quark's. He and Nog weren't able to win the auction but after going through various obstacles they finally attain it and give it to Benjamin at the end.
<br><br>

<br><br>
So, to my story of how it happened. I'm not sure I can come up with a more creative idea (to me anyway) revolving around baseball and DS9. I bought the Willie Mays rookie card reprint, not realizing it was a mini, and joined the FB 50th Star Trek Con group and was able to find a fellow fan to get the autos of actors Aron Eisenberg and Cirroc Lofton for me! I mailed him the card, a protector, and a special marker for autos on cards. After getting the autos at the convention he sent the card to another friend who then sent it to PSA for authentication. Honestly, Im not sure I can top this idea for myself. Im so happy with this outcome. Here it is.
<br><br>
A PSA authenticated Aron Eisenberg and Cirroc Lofton signed 1986 CCC reprint of Willie Mays' 1951 Bowman rookie card. I hope you can appreciate it as much as I do.

These were sold by team in generic paper box sets. The only way to know what team it was in the box was to look at the back where there was a small window to see a partial logo of one of the teams. I had never seen these packaged before, only in their plastic wrap. I knew of most of the foreign players because I had been looking for this set for some time. This is also the only authorized Korean "game" set I know about.
<br><br>
There are eight teams total: Doosan Bears, Lotte Giants, Haitai Tigers, Hanwha Eagles, Hyundai Unicorns, LG Twins, Samsung Lions, and SK Wyverns. Each of these teams has 16-18 cards. These sets are unnumbered and have the players uniform number on the front. I used these numbers for the checklists on TCDB <a href="https://www.tradingcarddb.com/Search.cfm?SearchCategory=Baseball&cx=partner-pub-2387250451295121%3Ahes0ib-44xp&cof=FORID%3A10&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=2001+teleca" target="a">here</a>. I was able to purchase these five teams for $60, including the Lee Seung-yuop which can sell for $20 raw. I know Koreans who are trying to sell these for $20-$50 per team.
<br><br>
To my knowledge, this is the last set of official cards to have foreigners, and the last set Teleca produced. This does not include any team sets issued since (i.e. Doosan's oversized team sets starting in 2011). I still need Haitai, Lotte and LG. These too will be hard to come by, and most likely expensive.

My scanner can't focus well on some items. This is an image of three sets in their boxes. You can see partial logos of teams inside the small window.
<br><br>

<table width="600"><tr><td>

This is my best guess as to how play the game. I have never seen dice sold with anything related to this set but I am unsure what else the numbers 2-12 could mean. I also have never seen a boardgame sheet (like the 2014 Duael Ntreev Super Star set had). In Woods' case, his batting ability is 11 and his speed is 2. If you roll a 2-4, it appears you would be out(?), 5-6 would be a hit (안타), 7 is a double (2루), and 8-12 would be a home run (홈런).

In the case of ace pitcher Min-tae Jung, his pitching ability is 9, physical strength as 7. If you produce 2-5 strikeout, 6-7 groundball, 8 flyball, 9 foul ball, 10-12 is surrendering a hit.

I will now be in search of those three teams I need. I have a feeling it will be a while before I spot them, and probably not at an affordable price. It's a shame Teleca didn't stick around beyond 2001. I don't think any official Korean full-league sets were produced between 2002 and 2013. That's a long time to go without baseball cards! (Not counting the unauthorized <a href=:https://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/102141/2010-Korean-Baseball-Organization-Trading-Card-Game" target="a">2010 set</a>). By that time that bootleg set was released, seven years had passed with no sets being issued by anyone. Guess I'm grateful to whomever made them.

I bought two Lee Seung-yuop playing cards a little while ago but just started researching them. I was unsure if they were from the same deck but they have the same back and assumed so. Lee played for the Yomiuri Giants from 2006-2010. I decided to look at the other players in the set I was able to determine in various pictures on websites as I do not have a deck in-hand.
<br><br>
Pitcher Hiroshi Kisanuki is on top of the wrapped deck, thus the only visible card (of wrapped deck). Looking at their roster, I see that he was not on the Giants in 2010 but was for the others years in question. So 2010 is out.
<br><br>

<br><br>
Another image I found was of Koji Uehara and Shinnosuke Abe. I knew Abe was on the team for many years (2001-2019) and was of no help. I knew Uehara played in the MLB but didn't know much else. I looked at his BR bio and it shows he was on the Giants from 1999-2008, he went to play for the Baltimore Orioles in 2009. Thus this card set cannot be from 2009. <br>

<br><br>
So this leaves 2006-2008.
<br><br>
Lee had two different numbers while with the Giants. In his first year, 2006, he wore #33. In the other four years, 2007-2010, he wore #25. In this deck he is wearing #25.. so 2006 is out.

2007-2008 remain.

Looking at other images I've found online, it's too hard to determine the names or players on the rest of the cards. Can you help determine if this is a deck for the 2007 or 2008 Yomiuri Giants?

I am not sure when I will receive the deck in hand from my friend in Japan but wanted to determine ASAP because these two Lee cards will then need to be sent to friends in the US for a PSA submission.
<br><br>
UPDATE: A few hours after posting this, I think I figured it out. I zoomed in and saw a foreign player (#42) too light-skinned to be Marc Kroon. I looked up Kroon and he wasn't a Giant in 2007. I looked up the 2007 Giants roster and I saw Jeremy Powell listed with #42. He was on the Giants in 2006 and 2007 seasons. Kroon came to the team in 2008 so I'm sure this is a 2007 set and I will go with that.

This review has been a long time coming because of the difficulty finding this set. The 1999 Teleca Seung-Yeop Lee Homerun Card set is a 55-card set commemorating the 54 home runs Lee hit in 1999. The set is serialed to /1999, the year of release. I uploaded the checklist and set images to Trading Card Database (TCDB) here: <a href="https://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/139084/1999-Teleca-Seung-Yeop-Lee-Homerun-Card" target="a">1999 Teleca Seung Yeop Lee Homerun Card</a>
<br><br>
I have seen this set being sold by Korean collectors (whom I believe over-value their cards) for W150,000-W200,000 along with a folder, but unsure if this folder came with initial give-away. I was able to trade for this set (bought for Y5500 in Japan) with my friend Jin in Japan, so I was able to save money. I traded him several cards of Korean players such as Bum-ho Lee, Byung-kyu Lee, Chang-yong Lim, Byung-hyun Kim as well as two plaques of SK Slugger Jamie Romak. He also traded me several of these players' Japanese cards. He has also purchased my custom sets and enjoys collecting cards and memorabilia of foreign players.
<br><br>
I believe the photo below of the folder for this set was given away at the same time as the cards, perhaps the cards were already in the pages. I will try to find out more. I have seen numerous sellers posting photos of this set with these folders so the folders must have been released with the set, not custom made by someone. Though, I could be wrong because the folder cover image appears to below low-resolution and on cheap paper, so they may very well be custom-made. I have also heard from a seller on eBay that the last four cards of the set, cards #51, #52, #53 and #54 were released after the initial 50 cards. All the cards in my set have the same serial number of #1057/1999, so I am unsure if this is true.

I was excited to get these cards in hand and get them online in a checklist. I was very disappointed at the quality of these cards. The photos themselves and the feel of the cards I personally like, but the resolution isn't great, many with white blemishes/blobs, not physical damage on the card, but graphically. I am glad I have these uploaded to TCDB now but I am hesitant on getting them graded because these will not grade out very well. I don't know if I have a bad set or if they are all like this. My friend bought the set online and the set came in a plastic case, so it didn't come with a folder. Here are a few examples of what I am talking about. Again, not sure if I bought a bad set. If I did, I will look to buy a new, cleaner one that I may grade.
